IIRC neither of those fumble recoveries were particularly good defensive plays, just being in the right spot after ORST screwed up.

The first one they royally screwed up an exchange. On the one that allowed Stanford the late 4th qtr opportunity, Stanford had guys in the backfield, notably PK who got all over Nall. The ball didn't came out easily but when it did, two other Stanford players were in the backfield to pounce.
