I really hope a P12 coach with that sort of experience isn't sandbagging on the road, tied for first in the division, with the teams they are tied with up next. I do think they collectively underestimated their opponent and were really unprepared to boot. No amount of game adjustments can make up for a poor week of preparation, admitting I have no idea how well they prepared.
Vanilla schemes should have worked just fine against such an over-matched opponent. That they didn't is more worrisome to me than any schematic issues.
This is a bizarre season. Very uneven performances. You have ASU and Utah, but SDSU and OSU. So is this team younger than we thought? Defense isn't as stout as last few years; QB performance shaky; no one behind Love really. What's the deal? This defense against the ND run game? Yikes....
Fleming told Husak before the game he essentially expected a curb stomping. You could hear the surprise in his and Huard's voices as things developed.

Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working .I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work. Peter Gibbons
