I almost think it would be better if the players boycotted the ceremony in protest of the total incompetence of the selection "committee". An award from that group should actually mean little or nothing. And no, this isn't about who has been selected in the past years (although there may be much to question there), but rather that a lot of the voters have no real qualifications to vote, and don't actually do much homework on who they vote for. The fact ballots are turned in early shows, ipso facto, that some of the decisions are based on less than all the facts.
