Another consideration when assessing coach Shaw is the low probability, presumably, that he will bolt for the NFL or another college coaching job. As great as Harbaugh was for Stanford football, he bolted after only four years. Almost any top tier college football coach that was successful at Stanford would use it as a stepping stone. For Shaw, Stanford is the final destination (knock on wood).
