Yes, its just pure conjecture at this point. But I have since listened to the Shaw interview and Staples comments were based on his read of what Shaw had just said, as others noted above. I didnt want to make any snap decisions in the course of the game suggests fairly strongly that hes more prepared to make a different decision now. Shaw also fully acknowledged, now with some distance from the game, that Keller was off and basically didnt meet the standard.
We dont know how the competition will unfold this week in practice or what Shaw will ultimately choose to do. You are right that his propensity to defy the world and make unpopular QB decisions has been unlimited.Â
But just imho, this time he seems to be setting the stage for a change.Â
