Scheduling is hard and some of it is done years in advance. Tara can't just sit down ahead of the season and say, hmm, I have a young team this year, so I'll schedule some easy games early, then ramp them up slowly. It takes two to tango on scheduling each game, and you can't schedule someone who's already committed to playing someone else on that date, etc.
