Hey, y'all, thought I would chime in here for my first post.
I really think this game is going to boil down to the war in the trenches. If we play defensively like we did against K-State, we're in trouble. I don't see Bill Young blitzing a ton in this game like we did against OU. Landry Jones is much easier to rattle than Luck will be. We'll probably try to keep everything in front of us and wait on y'all to make mistakes to stop drives. That's a tough way to roll against a quarterback as good and as seasoned as Luck. I guarantee your receivers haven't played against a secondary that hits as hard as ours, so they may get a little jittery about making any catches across the middle. We have two cornerbacks who can run with almost any receiver one-on-one, so that frees up our safeties to play the run.
Our O-Line may be the best you've played all year. You won't be able to generate any pressure on Weeden just rushing 4. And if you don't pressure him, he's likely to pick you apart. However, if your cover guys are good, he has so much confidence that sometimes he tries to throw the ball into some pretty tight spaces. Many of his interceptions are of this variety, but more times than not, he makes those throws.
If we don't force y'all to kick field goals instead of score touchdowns, or if we don't get any takeaways, or if we give you the ball more than we take it ;), this game could come down to whomever has the ball last. I am looking forward to an exciting game, and I hope for a fun, injury free game for both sides!
