I just replayed the UW game and studied each of our defensive players on every play.Â
#15 had been improving over the last few games, but had a terrible game. He didn't attack the plays by closing ground and taking on blocks. In fact, he looks like he goes out of his way to avoid contact. However, he frequently shows up after the tackle is made and celebrates like he did something great.
You're talking about Jordan Perez. UW was his worst game by a margin. He was credited with just one tackle, whereas he had five tackles and a half sack against Washington State.
Quote:#20 had a some big plays, but has the opposite problem. He tends to commit too soon and frequently over-pursues plays. Several of Gaskin's big gains were the result of his taking himself out of the play. He makes up for this problem with speed, athleticism, and relentlessness.
#20 is Okereke. He led the team in tackles with eleven, had two sacks and three tackles for loss. Sounds pretty good to me.

As mentioned above, he shared the lead in tackles with Frank Buncom.
