No Johnny, staring blankly with hands on hips isn't going to lead to the answer.
Funny, the folks with whom I was sitting last night [one of whom has already posted in this thread] made a virtually identical comment about Haase [although I believe the exact phrase used was "deer in the headlights"].
Please don't misunderstand: I support Haase and certainly hope that he succeeds. In fact, if things continue as they have to date, who knows, I might end up standing by him longer than many on this Board... ;D
What I find problematic is the undeniable fact that, if last night's game and the second half of the UOP game [or, for that matter, many of last season's games] had played out EXACTLY as they did, except with Dawkins rather than Haase as coach, it would have all been blamed on the coach. Why not now?
I'm especially intrigued by the comment that you have no doubt what Haase is trying to do, but were, apparently, in the dark as to what Dawkins was trying to do, since many of the same problems that existed under Dawkins back then are evident now. With largely similar results.

If it had been Dawkins on his second year at Stanford, the reaction would have been different than if it had been Dawkins with the 6th, 7th or 8th year in the program.
