Gotta say, I'm reminded that "both teams play at their very best" also implies that Stanford is playing "their very best" ...  that's a pretty nuts team. If I could pick against your spread in the "both playing their very best," I'm putting lots of money on stanford.

You know, it's too bad, but I think we were heading for our very best ever the UW annihilation. 66-21, with 7 Husky points being garbage time ones? That was epic. Then the injuries started. While everyone focuses on the players who were missing, I think Martin and Fleming were a bit slowed even in the games they did play (what they did to Notre Dame's very good defensive line is a bit of evidence in that theory's favor). Maybe it wouldn't've made a difference, but I'll always wonder.
