Yes, I watched USC against yall in the middle of the season and I was impressed by the talent USC had, specifically at WR where they made some great plays. All I am saying is that there is not a receiver in college footall as dominant as Justin Blackmon. He has been double teamed all year and still makes plays. Double teaming him has created some holes for our slot receivers, RB to catch balls, our TE and our #2 WR. Our starting #2 WR was injured at the beginning of the season, so it has made our receiving core weaker. Our passing game does not revolve around Blackmon, although he is a large part of it, but it revolves around taking what the defense is giving us. Want to stop Blackmon, and cover the run? We'll hit our other receivers. Want to stop Blackmon and our other receivers? We'll run. Want to stop the run? We'll pass. I am not saying that we will do these things to y'all, but that has been our recipe so far this year. Â
The only exception to this was Iowa freaking State, which sold out to stop the run and Weeden had an off night and we all know how that story ended. Other games, teams sell out to stop the pass and we run it. I'm sure the same thing could be said for lots of teams.Â
I am very excited about this game. I do think that your TE's will create some mismatches which Luck will exploit. We've got talent on defense, and I am curious to see how our coaching staff handles what y'all bring to the table.
