It will be tough. Mitchell just broke the NCAA 3-point record and had 34 points off of the previous game where Mavunga scored 35 points. In both games, Ohio State scored 100+ points.
I think we are tougher competition than either Memphis or Florida Gulf Coast, but we did give up 85 points, thanks to their 28 offensive rebounds in the season opener.
I'm sure Tara will have rebounding near the top of the list alongside containing Mitchell and Mavunga. It sounds like Romano is developing into our primary guard defender, filling in for Bri. She will certainly have her hands full.
We cannot let Ohio State run roughshod on the offensive glass; we simply cannot let a team with as much firepower as they have to get 2nd or 3rd opportunities to score on every possession.
On our end, I hope we are little more offensively put together than 2 weeks ago, even with Brit out this time around. We have scored 70+ points the last 2 games. Alanna can't get in foul trouble; we need her points to complement DiJonai.
Marta finally shooting more is something we've all clamored for since she started taking the starting point guard duties. Her passing has never been in doubt; if she can finally start shooting and making baskets, it will be a brobdingnagian bonus for us offensively, as teams can't sag off of her when she has the ball.
It should be another great test to see what the team has learned, now with 6 games under their belt.
