Viking guy -- Fantastic summary of the game!  Reading it brought back things back vividly, along with some great insights of yours.

Wake sounds loaded.  Even more of a challenge than I suspected, based on seeds and home field advantage.  As to the latter, per Winflop's question, we were only seeded 9th in the tournament, despite a higher ranking in the, what, Soccer America (?) poll.  Had to do with a much lower RPI, as all the high RPIs were contained within the ACC.  (Once collectively ranked high on the basis of pre-conference games, the numbers never had much of an opportunity to fall.)  I think Viking Guy wrote a post on that not long ago.

I sense the ACC fans are as smug about their teams as are ND fans in football.  Would love to knock off Wake in their home stadium again!
