She is an amazing athlete and appears to be an amazing person.  Some of the top male swimmers of the past have not always had my total respect as Katie does.  (One male star that did have my total respect was Pablo Morales, whom I swam under for a while on the Stanford Masters.)

It's a real embarrassment that the College Swimming Coaches Association chose not to recognize her as swimmer of the year!!!
