To an extent, of course you are right, though a lot of the UCLA mistakes that I saw were of the unforced kind. UCLA shot 31% for the game, and a lot of those misses were not because they were well-defended. Canada was an uncharacteristic 7/28 (ouch!). Had they shot a merely below average 39% from the field, they would have made 6 more shots and won the game.
That being said, I don't want to dwell too much on that, because we had our own problems with unforced mistakes (20 turnovers!), and in the end we did what we had to do when it counted, taking a 2-pt 3rd quarter lead and scoring 28 in the fourth quarter to win comfortably.
