I loved Marta last night. She was clam and cool and got the ball to people to make shots. Theres a lot to said for the non stat quick pass then quick pass. Marta to a player to another for a score. 52% has a lot to do with Marta. But mostly I loved how she grabbed loose balls. Grappled as it This ball is mine.Â
Always love McPhee.  The Todd Lichti Of WBB. Fearless and so athletic
But as a poster said got to win again tomorrow
Free throw shooting and reducing turnovers were the other two, and the free throw shooting looked just as bad as it has all year until we got into the 4th quarter and finished strong when we had to. Let's hope that started a trend.Â
As for turnovers, against Tennessee we had 15 turnovers and they had 11 steals, meaning we had 4 unforced errors. Against UCLA we had 20 turnovers and they had 11 steals, meaning we didn't possess the ball any better and got worse with the unforced errors. On the other hand, UCLA seemed to play more frenetic, pressing defense.
The comparison of McPhee with Todd Lichti is spot-on. I had not thought of that comparison but you are absolutely right--Lichti played and moved with a very similar style to McPhee. Lichti was the reason I got interested in basketball--and McPhee I confess is so much fun to watch that I enjoy seeing her play about as much as any player ever.
