One of the things I gleaned from the sidelines is the dizzying  array of personnel packages. Not just formations. Essentially every play running out new groups. They’d not only call out the package but often preceded it with a players name. So, for example- “Trips Rector”. Or “trips Stallworth”. Not the actual formation name  My memory  >:(

Stallworth is a good example. He was an excellent blocker. When he went in, it was a run a very high pct of time.

But here is the thing - most teams have tendencies out of formations and personnel groups. Stanford is probably a tad extreme. But it’s not out of the ordinary.
