All and all, a real failure on the coaches' part. If they do a good job in 2019 and forward the effects won't be too nasty, but it's a missed opportunity at best. That said, while the 2019 class looked promising last summer, most of their top targets have decided to go elsewhere. I don't want to be too hasty here, but it looks like the recruiting game is starting to pass the coaches by. It's strange because the class of 2017 was excellently done. I don't know whether that class gave the coaches hubris, or whether exterior factors have changed, but they need to turn things around if they don't want to regress to 7-5, 8-4 type seasons.
Or even 9-5 type seasons. . .
