We ended the MPSF regular season 3-9, 6-19 overall, tied with U$C for sixth. We meat #2 UCLA in the MPSF tournament on Saturday. UCLA has already beaten us twice (both 3-1).

At the end of the season, Stanford beat both first-year MPSF teams, #13 Grand Canyon (3-2) and #14 Concordia (3-1). Both Concordia and Grand Canyon finished ahead of Stanford in the MPSF this year. Stanford finally had 2016 high school player of the year Paul Bischoff back at setter. He was rusty, but they won.
As BC pointed out, we tied with U$C for sixth. The top five teams were BYU, UCLA, Pepperdine, Grand Canyon and Concordia. Candidly, I think it's too late for us to beat UCLA, even with a fully-up-to-speed setter, but stranger things have happened, so I'm excited to see it. I don't think we have a chance, even with our first string (by a mile) setter. Last time we played at UCLA, they had less than half as many errors as we did (22-10) and their hitting percentage was nearly double ours (.208 to .412). They have no visible weaknesses. Not sure how they lost to BYU.
