I think you can blame whoever was calling the offensive plays in the final minute. Putting that much pressure on a freshman kicker from a distance when it is completely unnecesary. You have an offense than hasn't turned the ball over but once all game and has put up great yardage yet you settle for a 34 yard field goal with a freshman kicker in the most important game of the season.

I could see this coming as the clock was draining. The playcalling in overtime was bad too.
