So does anyone really think that kick would have been good from say 29 yards? Shaw was too busy to watch Williamson freaking out behind the bench on the last drive, so I really can't blame him for ending the game like every other sane coach in America would. They could have run one more play, and I would have run one more play just to burn clock, but a 32 yard field goal from dead center is about as good as it gets for the win.

Williamson was 75% from the 30 yard range going into this game--so there was always that 25% chance that he would miss.  On the other hand,  Andrew Luck was 0% for interceptions in the red zone for the season.  Taking a shot or two at the end zone would have been a good percentage choice.  Especially on a play-action, which had been set up beautifully.

As for Jordan, there are some excellent sports psychologists he could work with.  While the most important attribute for a kicker is leg, the second most important is amnesia.
