Beck has settled in nicely after giving up four runs in the first two innings. The problem is that the offense has failed to get going aside from a two-run home run from Matthiessen to cut the lead to 4-2 as we head to the eighth.
Matthiessen has now hit six homers in the last six games and solidified his spot as a DH when he’s not pitching. The question for me is what do you do with Matthiessen once Wulff is ready to DH. Hard to imagine Esquer will take his bat out of the lineup but can he play in the field somewhere?
