To add insult to injury, this was the first time a top-4 seed has failed to advance to the Round of 16 since the field expanded to 64 teams. So, uh, we've got that going for us.

I heard some chatter that Ole Miss was underranked because it was now healthy and hadn't been for much of the year.  Maybe so.  Still no excuse when you're ranked as highly as Stanford was.
