Not only does Natoma host the Pac-12 championships, but it has hosted (and will continue to host at various points in the future) the NCAA women's championships as well as the men's IRA championship regatta. The CSUS Aquatic Center is fully-built out and very nice. Just a little over two weekends ago, Natoma hosted the USRowing Youth National championship regatta.
It can get hot at Natoma, but at least the course is pretty fair. Sometimes the wind can favor the left two lanes. But this is an outdoor sport, and just about every course has its quirks. Natoma is one of the best the US has to offer.
The only "real" downside is the (continuing) appearance of rattlesnakes :)
(Also, am I really an early-adopter? Has it been that long??)
