Interesting. I had not heard that angle before. I cannot think of anything Helton might have done to deserve the snub, but I also have no insight into the politics of the Pac-12. Helton seemed like a no-brainer after getting to the Rose Bowl in 2016 and winning the Pac-12 in 2017. And Coach Pete is certainly due at some time. Leach was actually co-winner with Shaw in 2015 and will certainly win again this year if he can take the Pac-12; but UW may have other ideas, and then Petersen's hour may have finally arrived.
