It would be very surprising if JJ-Arcega Whiteside came back. He's a first round draft pick and will have graduated.

That's been true of other players, too, and they have returned (e.g., Luck). But I think he will go.

Luck was an academic junior when he decided to come back. JJ-AW is an academic senior. So, his situation is more akin to Luck's when he decided not to come back.

Ah, yes. You're right. Forgot he decided against leaving early, not merely when he had more eligibility. My bad.
I guess my point is that I do not think it is automatic that a player leaves when he can. But having a degree and a first-round grade is really hard to ignore.
