I think there is a big difference between "talking about" whether a student has been accepted or not, and discussing what he might do as a result (something I assume fans who are interested in recruiting do all the time), and announcing via twitter that you know an applicant has been rejected. My first thought at the tweets about Odenigbo is that it is particularly bad since it was announced that he had not passed admissions. Sharing news that one would no doubt be proud of, such as being admitted, seems not so bad. But on further reflection, I think any such information should be announced only by the student and his family, even if the news is positive.Â
