I saw the article before it was posted here, and thought that quote about not being admitted was strange. Why wouldn't he know yet if he'd been admitted? What else could the admissions board have been waiting for to make their decision. You know his app was sitting at the top of the pile to get reviewed. And then, if you really didn't know, why would you make a grand announcement in a public situation that you were going, if you didn't know you were going to be admitted. It all seemed odd. The newsok article makes a lot more sense.

The original Sanders article about not being admitted yet seemed somewhat plausible given the Ricky Seale sitation a couple of years ago, in which Seale apparently did not know he was admitted until the night before national signing day.  I could not recall if I had ever read when Sanders actually subitted his final application, so it seemed possible.
