OF, thanks for this. Really like your points. One nitpick:
The '19 class is 21 guys (assuming no surprise Feb signings). Assuming you're going by 247sports or Stanford's press release, they included 3 walk-ons (though Sanborn will likely earn a scholarship relatively quickly), and Damuni is coming back from a mission.
I agree that it should've been more, but the sign that staff is learning as you suggest will be the '20 class having 20+ despite "looking like" it should be 17-18 IIRC.

To be clear, a class of 23 like 2019 is good for Stanford, so maybe Shaw and the football staff realize they have to bring in more guys annually from here on out given the above dynamics, and right now, the program is caught in a little transition to an understanding that classes now must be a bit bigger to account for the attrition taking a toll on depth.
