Thank you VG! I was hoping for a report.
When I heard that Nneka went down I was terrified. I suppose all of us have privately wondered what would happen if... Well, shades of Nygaard and Folkl flashed through my head. Which is to say my darkest memories associated with Stanford women's basketball began to surface when I contemplated an injury to Nneka.
A relief to know she was able to come back into the game. I do hope that was not a mistake, though, and that she makes a full and speedy recovery.
It sounds as if Joslyn is playing herself into the starting lineup, and that we may finally be seeing the beginning of a stable starting lineup. How delightful to see four players in double digit scoring! And what a nice job by Toni tonight!
What the heck happened to our O-boards, though? Colorado had 13 and we had 7? I see Nneka had 0. Was she unable to jump?
The quote I like from the Colorado paper:Â
"We did a good job with Nnemkadi and Chiney," Sborov said. "I just don't feel we were as ready for Joslyn."
Add in the 19 points by Kokenis, and CU had a tough time stopping Stanford's four-headed monster.
Great to see that "four headed monster" forming! There will be teams ahead for which it will be needed.
