Lee played in Q School last fall as well. She missed advancing from Stage II to the Finals by one shot.
But even if either or both Lee and Valenzuela make the Finals and earn a tour card, they still could choose to defer until after the conclusion of the college season. Last year at least 2 of the 7 college amateurs who earned their tour cards did so (Jennifer Kupcho at Wake Forest and Maria Fassi at Arkansas).

At a minimum, the lineup at the Stanford tournament is a preview of life without Lee and Valenzuela. Freshman Angelina Ye is 2 holes away from winning the first tournament of her college career.
By the way, Lucy Li is also signed up for Q school stage II. She may forego college golf altogether.
