Something like that may be a very good move. It appears that Gaffney was a good influence at the UW game, so having an on-staff injection of EUTM could be just what we need. I don't know if Skov is interested or available, but I am sure there are other credible possibilities. OTOH, we probably will get dinged for not going outside the program with such a hire.
Since July, it appears that Shayne has been an associate at McKinsey. I just Googled his name and his LinkedIn appears: https://www.linkedin.com/in/shayneskov/
Good for him! If he ever gets burnt out and wants to try coaching, he would have a lot of fans here...
"I am a 5 year NFL veteran who played for the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints.
I graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Management Science & Engineering (2014). During my time at Stanford, I was a five-year member on the Stanford Football Team (2009-2014), a member of teams that won BCS Orange and Rose Bowls. Additionally, I earned two PAC-12 All-Academic Team awards, was voted an Associated Press All-American, selected as a captain by my peers, and recipient of the Stanford University Award for Senior Excellence.
Founded DAC Foundation (Divierte Aprende y Convive) focused on youth development via education and athletics. Foundation operates in Guadalajara Mexico providing clinics and seminars nationally across Mexico. Negotiated deals with Nike and Gatorade to sponsor foundation events."
Thanks for the LinkedIn link: Shayne doesn't look nearly as menacing posing in a bow-tie and without his trademark eye-black. Still savor that image of him after the 2012 Oregon victory when he and his teammates were wearing nerd glasses in the post-game presser.
