Interestingly, because there are so few 5th years on the team, we actually NEED more attrition this year in order to accommodate what should be another 20+ man freshman class.

Yes, from a thread a few weeks ago, we were trying to come up with scholarship math and it was assumed folks like Peek, Butler, Speights and Parsons would not necessarily return. Swann and Williams departures would open up those spots of course, but the scholarship math does get tight quickly. With so few seniors, you can see why some scholarships were not utilized this past season. If Stanford used them all, we would only have room for about 14 in this recruiting class and the staff would be maligned for imbalance down the road.
The junior decisions also will have a big impact. Adeebo is most likely gone. Parkinson probably gone? Little? I would be surprised if he were drafted in Round 1 if he goes out now coming off an injury, and i would be surprised if he wasn't a Round 1 draft pick if comes back healthy to Stanford next year. Little probably has a good economic argument to stay.. Round 1 contracts especially top half of Round 1 can be worth waiting a year for. It does delay free agency but Round 1 money is good enough that if you never make it to free agency, you are still in good shape financially.
