To do what he did with no experience on this level was astounding. Don’t care about the stats the kid protected. As for Stanford run blocking and with all do respect to Scarlett nobody on this roster hits the hole hard enough.
And Sam with all do nobody watches film anymore. Nor tape. We are watching digital content shot on wafer thin cards. You guys have a much better idea of how those little pieces of info get on that card. I gave up when we went to tape. But I could spend hours boring you to death with stuff about what you could literally hold in your hand and view.
Oh, of course. Few watch any tape, and even fewer watch the OL. Something I'm enjoying learning more about.
Yes, by all measures, 3* true freshman Rouse (and the other frosh, but especially the LT) should've been eaten alive out there. He wasn't. Was he GOOD? I wouldn't say so. But he wasn't bad. Held his own despite being 9 months removed from playing pathetically weak high school competition. Massive difference between a guy like Drake Metcalf playing for St. John Bosco in CA's highest division, and Rouse playing in the lowest division in DC. Extremely impressive and bodes very well for him moving forward.
