Interestingly, he was "only" fourth in the league in rushing attempts, with 287. Still, he's on the field way too much and is taking too many hits.

At least he won't have to worry about taking hits in the playoffs? (In all seriousness, can somebody who follows the NFL more closely than I do tell me what went wrong with the Panthers this season?)

Isn't it as simple as bad quarterback play? I didn't follow the team closely at all, but Cam Newton is a shell of himself due to injury and then the back up had some shining moments but ultimately isn't a great QB either.

In the NFL, the team will live and die based on QB play.
