2) i thought we fell behind when we subbed out maya dodson. imo maya was the main reason ruthie hebard didn't go off. not that i wanted maya to play more coming back from injury. just that our post defense drops off after her and nadia. our first post sub, alyssa jerome, got four fouls in 4 minutes. fran only played one minute as tara pulled her after she threw a lazy pass that was picked and run back for a lay-up.

Obviously Hebard is among the nation's best with the ball down low.  But she only tried 2 shots in 30 minutes of play (1 vs Maya, 1 when Maya was out).  Clearly Maya did a good job, but I don't think any one player can be that good as they can only guard one side of a player, and then there are rebounds.  The double team, usually from a Hull, was the double-edged sword that made this possible.  IMO, Maya is a much better post defender than Nadia.
