Lexie started and finished the game well, but during that disastrous stretch when we were stuck at 8 points, and then continuing until just before the half, she missed 9 shots in a row. That is the period when Oregon built its insurmountable lead.
It was actually 6 (not 9) misses in a row by Lexie (per the box score PxP), all in the 1st quarter. (Sequence: (1Q) made 2, miss 6, (2Q)made 2, miss 2 in the first half, agreeing with the 1st half box indicating she was of 4 of 12).
So taken as a unit, the twin Hulls did miss 9 in a row :P
". . . taken as a unit, the twin Hulls . . . " I love the phrasing. I've beginning to mentally refer to them as "the catamaran," -- which is a fantastic and stable craft that has twin hulls. The combo of them is terrific, each with her own skills and both with great energy.
