regarding ruthy hebard. we did indeed contain her. stanford has over the years been quite good at containing star post players, usually by doubling them. doesn't work as well if the opponent has 3 or 4 other talented scorers. we often doubled hebard and wisely kept someone on ionescu and boley. that left either sabally or minyon moore wide open. unfortunately, sabally is as good a 3-point shooter as alanna smith.  based on what we saw of minyon moore at ucla, she could have scored a lot, too; but it appeared she had orders to distribute, not shoot.

At least a few of Sabally's jumpshots were open because we were paying so much attention to Hebard.  Tara notes in the press conference that part of Sabally's success was that she was not the top defensive priority.  Teams that have 3 superstars will do that to you.
