I don't know exactly how Coach Ray handles qualifying. On my high school golf team, it was a series of stroke play rounds, maybe a simulated 36 hole tournament so that you were not undone by one bad round. If you were one of the top 2 or 3 on the team in a tournament, you were exempt from qualifying. Everyone else had to qualify for the next tournament. You want the players to get used to competing under pressure.
My guess is that Brown and Arasu moved up into the lineup this week based in some part on their performance at Coral Mountain when the rest of the team was at PGA West. Brown shot 69-65-70. Arasu shot 69-69-71.
