Almost certain that Conrad follows a common practice:
The top four players in the most recent tournament play.
Everyone else competes in qualifying (at least 36 holes)
for the fifth (and sixth "spot," if that upcoming tournament allows a sixth player
to compete as an individual.)
Conrad may give some weight to overall performance in these qualifying events.
After I complete my current three year project,
I will see if he'll grant me an interview.
