On the bright side, Ionescu's return for this season did allow her to win a P12 Tourney title, something that eluded her (and her teammates) last year . . .
When Luck or Love came back to play for us when they could have gone pro, I admired that. And so to be consistent I have to admire Ionescu. I was pretty sure that my team would not win the national championship this year, but I sure as heck hoped that Oregon would defeat South Carolina or Baylor and/or crush UConn again. They did not get the chance.
I completely support shutting the country down to avoid--if is is possible after all of the missteps--the fate of Italy, which is now triaging patients to die. But I also feel deep sadness at all the lost opportunities and crushed dreams that have come out of today's decisions.
