Both of the cats in the story were thought to have gotten it from their owners. I suppose that is another reason to practice social distancing; to save your cats!
Now that I am thinking of it, maybe your dog's behavior is a ploy to get you to get COVID-19 so you can transmit it to your cats. OTOH, I don't think dogs are capable of being that evil; that would be a very cat-like scheme.
