I always love the meme that if Stanford has a subregional and regional in California, we "don't have to leave the state" to qualify for the Final Four becomes a big story, while UConn rarely having to travel more than 150-200 miles (Trenton, Philadelphia, Rhode Island regionals after a Bridgeport/Fairfield/Storrs/Hartford/Springfield/Boston subregional) to do the same thing excites little comment.
Also, at least this year the Final Four is west of Texas for only the second time in the last 20 years. It's been on the West Coast exactly once (San Jose in 1999) in that time. And the next four years? New Orleans, Nashville, Tampa, Indianapolis.
