Up there in the corner.  Touting a Masters in Communication Management.  Management.  Cripes.

Even though she is a barbed arrow in my side, slowly working its way toward vital organs,  I agree with Kathy on broad principles.  Most of the time watching what's left of TV news or reading bloggers who have unwisely been given more prominence than they merit,  the first thing I think is " Wasn't there an editor around to save this nincompoop from him/her self?"   

Not every writer can be an autonomous, fully functioning adult like garvin.  Many or most NEED editors for the same reason we don't leave the front doors of day care centers open to streets with busy, fast traffic. 

But then I begin to ruminate on the difference between editors who obsess over the placement of apostrophes  and editors who are good at sorting and rescuing trash writing  and  I begin to think like garvin.
