A summary of the CA Public school COVID-19 advisory is included on SFGate now.
It includes things most of us would have expected.
* Masks for students
* Face shields for teachers
* Encouraging schools to utilize the outdoor areas whenever practical.
And assurances that a quality education will be available for all. That is not really credible IMHO, but I understand the need to make that claim.
Most CA schools have rooms packed with kids and there just are not enough open indoor areas to even begin to meet this goal.
Outdoor space quality varies DRAMATICALLY by school. Some schools are literally feet from major interstates making the outdoor spaces noisy and polluted. Other schools share fields with their city public parks. That's OK if it is a PE teacher watching ~20 kids, quite another thing if 40% of the children are out there.
Oh well, guess that's just what has to happen.
The teacher and student PPE requirements shared in the document are likely to be what we can expect for colleges and universities in the state too.
