Apparently, not too readily from contaminated surfaces or brief passings-by, but from close contact for extended periods. This gives hope that appropriate social protocols can be developed.
A real issue, beside the dreadful absence of Presidential leadership, is the extent to which health officials have damaged credibility by overkill, or SIP's extended indefinitely.
