I think this is an interesting debate, and I've learned a fair bit reading it, but I suspect it runs afoul of the purpose of this board.  Moreover, at this point, each side has said its piece and has made it pretty clear that they do not appear willing to move from the territory they've staked out.  I'm not a fan of locking threads, and this is an important one, so this one will remain open, but let's get back to subject of this thread, the fact that Stanford is dropping 11 sports.
