It's one thing to have a plan to play. It's another to actually go through with playing.
I doubt they could finish the season, but each weekend would give the SEC & ACC TV revenue. Most of the SEC schools simply don't have meaningful endowments to even temporarily replace lost revenue, and the state budgets have a lot of other groups looking for COVID19 related relief.
A few coaches and players may be lost but that may be deemed acceptable by the conference execs if it allows the conference to get a few bucks.
