I've had a few ex-employees like that. I used to think high-output, high-maintenance people were admirable, employable, useful. My CEO ran across one of my former employees from a prior firm the other day and asked if I would be interested in hiring her for my current firm. My response "Yes, I know her very well. I would avoid her at all costs. Happy to explain further if necessary." It wasn't necessary.
