WSU with only 9 pros is probably indicative that scheme and coaching can overcome talent. Over the last 4 years WSU has a better overall record than Stanford.
Give me the talent. Every time. Scheme can mean some success. But in the end, it’s the players that matter. Best example is Walsh 1 vs SC. 7 points in 2 years. SC overwhelmed them physically. Little different when Walsh was with Niners and John Robinson the Rams.....
Yes, I will take talent too, but talent alone won't get it done. Scheme gave WSU a lot of success considering their past record. Stanford proved to have a lot of problems with the WSU scheme despite the talent difference. Talent alone is not enough.
Agree. My point is in the long run talent is generally going to prevail over scheme. That’s all
